Valentin's Day is just around the corner. What better way to give your relationship a little love boost than with a makeover? Cupid's arrow struck three lucky couples and treated them to a romantic day at the salon. Behold their exquisite transformation...

Love bug: Dating for one year
On Balanced Living: “Since we both lead very busy lives,
our time together really counts. We share the same love
and appreciation for running and going to the gym, as well
as cooking healthy meals with organic whole grain foods.”
On her: This teacher-by-day needed to keep her hair layers
in check, so we gave her softer layers along with lighter
panels and darker undertones to frame her face. Christine
also had winter dry lips. Using Kiss My Face Sheer Organic
Shine Lip Gloss in ruby we gave Christine’s pout out a
natural berry-stained flush. To make her eyes naturally
glow, we applied Dr. Hauschka Volume Mascara in black and Ecco Bella Shimmer Dust in moon. A dust of Aubrey Organics Silken Earth Powder Blush on Christine’s cheeks
completed her romantic look.
On him: Sheldon impressed our hair stylists with the little
maintenance he required. However, to give him a fresher
look for Valentine’s Day, we took a little length off the top
and cleaned up the sides and neck area.

Love bug: Married for eight years
On Balanced Living: “Our two beautiful sons keep us busy
as do our careers, friendships and hobbies. However, we
make time for our family and each other. We believe being
together as much as possible, and having few moments
apart, keeps everyone happy.”
On her: Veda already had an edgy side cut, but the tone was
slightly off. We gave Veda a layered bob to create a more
balanced look. en we went a shade darker on her tone,
adding panels of hazelnut to accentuate Veda’s skin. To
give Veda sexy smoky eyes, we used natural black eyeliner
and mascara, as well as Ecco Bella Eyeshadow in earth and
charcoal. en a light dusting of Aubrey Organics Silken
Earth Translucent Base in tan and caramel gave her oily
skin into a healthy glow. We fi nished this hot mama’s look
with Burt’s Bees Super Shine Lip Shimmer in zesty red.
On him: Meeting with clients almost daily, Ken has
to maintain a professional look and wanted something
versatile yet professional. So we added some extra appeal
to Ken’s hair with a textured cut, making Ken’s styling
routine even easier.

Love bug: Married for 23 years
On Balanced Living: “Mirek’s work keeps him very busy, so we try to keep set days (Sundays and ursday afternoons)
for us to do something active together like golf, bowling,
or hiking. We also plan little projects around the house.”
On her: The main concern with Yoshiko’s hair was it was
over-layered with too much growth in the back, making
it unbalanced and dehydrated. After adding a fresh coat
of colour to cover the roots and greys, we shortened the
length and layers to create a focal point around her face for that “graduated bob.” For subtly dramatic peepers, we
used Dr. Haushka Liquid Eyeliner in brown and brushed
her eyelids with deep taupe shadows by Ecco Bella. en we
added a youthful warm flush to her cheeks with Aubrey
Organics Powder Blush in warmed rose. For a neutral pout,
we treated Yoshiko to Burt’s Bees Super Shine Lip Shimmer.
On him: Working at his clinic nearly everyday, all day, Mirek had a no-fuss hairstyle. We brought out this doctor’s youthfulness with a fresh trim and transformed his grey strands to a light brown shade.
Dressed to impress: Crop satin pink jacket, Lida Baday; cowl-neck cotton top, H&M Trend Collection; cotton blazer and organic cotton collection polo, H&M Man.
