Organic Yogurt With Homemade Granola

1 cup Stonyfield Farm Organic Plain or Vanilla Yogurt
½ cup organic strawberries
¼ cup organic sour cherries, garnish (optional)
organic maple syrup, garnish (optional)

Granola:
4 cups organic rolled oats, barley or wheat
½ cup sunflower or sesame seeds
½ cup honey or organic maple syrup
¼ cup canola oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup raisins (optional)
½ cup walnuts (optional)

½ tsp salt
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  • Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl; set raisins aside.
  • In a separate bowl, mix oil, extract and any sweeteners.
  • Mix liquid and dry ingredients until granola is dark and shiny.
  • Using a shallow baking pan, spread granola and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Use spatula to turn over granola on pan and bake granola for another 10 minutes or until brown.
  • Remove granola from oven and stir in raisins.
  • Put approximately 2 ½ tbsp of yogurt on the bottom of a glass.
  • Slice strawberries and place slices on side of glass
  • Add granola on top of strawberries and yogurt in glass.
  • Add approximately 3 tbsp of yogurt on top of granola, strawberries and yogurt in glass.
  • Add desired amount of granola and plain yogurt to top off glass.
  • Garnish with granola, sour cherries (or any other organic berry), drizzle maple syrup and serve.

 

Store any remaining granola in an airtight container and freeze for other meals.
