To prepare for his role as a street magician in the new movie When in Rome, Jon Heder (of Napoleon Dynamite fame) took magic lessons and performs almost all of the tricks in the movie. His co-star in the movie Josh Duhamel proved only slightly less coordinated, taking four takes to get a stunt right. After three failed attempts to crash his Vespa and fly into a car and hit the windshield, a stunt double was called in to take Duhamel’s place. But Duhamel pleaded with the director for one more try. He finally nailed it, hitting the windshield so hard that it cracked. That’s a wrap!
Denzel Washington lost weight to play his character in the post-apocalyptic movie the Book of Eli. His wife Pauletta apparently loved her hubbie’s slimmed down body. But Denzel laughed saying she shouldn’t get used to the new look. “I’m halfway back,” he says.
CellCeuticals biomedical skin treatment is proving a bit hit in Hollywood. and celebrities are saying it’s a great way of getting results without cosmetic surgery. The CellCeuticals kit was even included in the Golden Globe swag bags. The line was created by plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher, hoping to offer prospective patients an effective skin treatment system that’s easy to use.
Hollywood fans of the company include former VIVA cover girl Ana Ortiz, Kim Kardashian, and Gloria Estefan.“My skin is so much smoother now.” says Estefan discussing the skin care product: “After just TWO weeks of using the product, my skin looked and felt firmer. Natural aging lines virtually became invisible.”
Alec Baldwin recently donated $1 million to his alma mater, the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. The donation was made in order to establish a scholarship fund in Baldwin’s name.
Real-life father of three sons, Brendan Fraser (who is currently co-starring with Harrison Ford in Extraordinary Measures) says playing the role of an on-screen father was very difficult. “I felt a gravitational pull to the material so that there’s a certain element of acting that wasn’t necessary. I play a desperate father seeking out somebody who would help his kids and these kids were wonderful. What wouldn’t a father do to save his own children?”
Nicolas Cage lost two of his homes to foreclosure and is said to owe over $6 million in back taxes. Other celebrity bank accounts that took a dive last year include Kevin Bacon, who was swindled out of large sums of cash by Bernie Madoff, Pamela Anderson who supposedly owes $1.1 million to a contractor for construction on her Malibu home, and famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, who incurred $700,000 in photo service bills and $1.4 million in tax loans. Let’s hope 2010 will be a better year for them.
Dear John star Channing Tatum says that he’s a fan of another famous movie based on a Nicholas Sparks novel – The Notebook is apparently a favorite of Tatum and his wife. “Every time me and my wife watch it, she looks up and makes me promise that I’m going to die with her in bed. Then the waterworks begin. It’s insane.”
Tatum’s Dear John co-star Amanda Seyfried says her real-life romance takes a little more traveling time to cuddle up and watch a movie. “My boyfriend lives in London with a messy roommate, so I’ve been doing a lot of flying lately.” All that time on a plane with other passenger could account for her recent case of bronchitis.
