“Modern Family’s” Sofia Vergara, who wowed at the Emmys, says she has never felt pressured to lose her Colombian accent, but “you can’t compare the opportunities you get to an American-accented actress.  When they get 10 scripts a week, I get two a month.”  

Jay Leno performed in front of more than 1000 people in Biloxi, Mississippi in a fundraising event for the BP oil-spill recovery.  After his show, Leno presented an oversized check for $90,336 to the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

It was overflow capacity at Doris Bergman’s  “Endless Summer” Emmy Suite.  Felicity Huffman, Eric Roberts, Eva LaRue, Deidre Hall, Antonio Sabato Jr. and many more attended to see an incredible array of fashion for him and her, skin care, travel must-haves, fab footwear and more.  Dirtee Hollywood tees seen on the Twilight cast and Adam Lambert was busy showing off their soft tees and colorful hoodies while Soy Terrific candles revealed their new fragrances.  The candles, loved by Alicia Silverstone and Josie Moran, can burn up to 185 hours are made with all vegetable products so pure that they can be used as a body lotion.  Over at the Obvious showcase, their soft cotton contemporary vintage clothing that has been showing up on everyone from Fergie and Simon Baker to Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron,  wanted everyone to know that creators Todd and Chad Kimball fave charity is “VH1 Save The Music”.  Shoppers Tote, a “green” essential for all shoppers who face the challenge of carrying multiple bags at one time, brought Shirley Jones and Marty Ingels to their table..   Caribbean Joe’s new solar powered briefcase and backpacks are a must for all those embracing eco-friendly living.  Containing it’s own solar panels, the briefcases and backpacks allow for you to plug in your electronic essentials at any time.  Very convenient for professionals and students.  Twisted Silver – a Hollywood fave adorning everyone from Charlize Theron and Tyra Banks to Katherine Heigl and Jessica Biel - once again outdid itself with recycled and remarkable looking jewelry pieces including their recycled spoons for necklaces and bracelets.  Owner Deb Mitchell’s  “Emmy Rocker Necklace” was a big hit with everyone.  

Emmy winner for her role in “Nurse Jackie”, Edie Falco was stunned to win in the comedy category, but says she would love to step into the funny lady role of Tina Fey’s Liz Lemon in “30 Rock”.  “I just want to be on that set.  When I was there in 2007 (her character had an affair with Alec Baldwin’s Jack Donaghy), it was just ridiculously fun.  Everyone laughs and that’s such a nice thing to have during the workday.”

Another Emmy winner, Kyra Sedgwick said when asked whether going winless in her first 4 attempts worried her this year:  “I love Susan Lucci; I think she’s awesome.”  “There are so many amazing people who haven’t won Emmys.  Martin Sheen never won for “The West Wing”, how crazy is that?”  “The Closer’s” detective said her TV law  role models growing up included “Cagney & Lacey” and “Angie Dickinson rocks pretty hard.”     

Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton are going to make beautiful music together since recently joining “Joyful Noise”, a feature revolving around two women who join to prevent a small-town gospel choir from disbanding.  

Television’s salaries are becoming a rarity – ask “Entertainment Tonight’s” host, Mary Hart who is calling it quits from the popular show after 30 years due to the declining fortunes of TV’s syndication business.  The iconic anchor, who has appeared as herself in many movies, was making $5 million a year and accepted a pay cut – around 50% - in May for one final season.  

Mark Wahlberg is starring in “The Fighter” in December, playing boxer “Irish” Micky Ward.  “I trained for 4 ½ years.  There were times where I was like forget about it, it’s just not going to happen.  But then, of course, I’m thinking `I can’t put in all this time and effort and not get it done.”  What did this teach the Oscar nominated actor?  “I need to be more patient.”  Besides acting, the dad of four says he feels he is an absolute expert on Dora The Explorer.  “Anything to do with kids, I’m pretty sharp on.”

What are friends for?  Danny DeVito will step in for his pal Michael Douglas at the Zurich Film Festival, where he will accept the event’s Golden Icon Award on Douglas’ behalf.  Douglas was scheduled to appear at the presentation on October 13th, but canceled since receiving his diagnosis of  Stage IV throat cancer and his ongoing treatments.
